Session 10 (Nov 18) - Technology Enhanced Writing Instruction

Generally, students may think English writing is difficult and boring. For my primary students, they often encounter picture writing as in daily writing exercises, exams and even in TSA! In this kind of picture writing. not much creativity is allowed as fixed number of pictures is given. Students are limited to write based on the pictures given, even they are asked to elaborate their ideas. So, can picture writing be more interesting? Can students have autonomy in their own writing? The answer is definitely 'YES', with the promotion of e-learning in writing and if we, as teachers, give a try.

Tonight, we learnt to use some tools in doing picture writing or creating picture books. The storybook below is about one of the study trips with my lovely P5 students in 2014. I made it https://www.mystorybook.com/. What is good about this website is that we can upload our own photos to tell the story. We can also make use of different items provided and various functions to make an unique story. Have a look at my storybook https://www.mystorybook.com/books/278980 and see if you like it.
